The director and screenwriters of Valkyrie have managed to make a film about the attempted assassination of Hitler that leaves you entirely indifferent to whether or not the plot succeeds.

I saw it a few weeks ago and completely agree. I was strangely aloof about the entire movie
I went to Germany just before seeing this and it helped me understand it a lot. I stood where the final scene was shot and is now called the German Resistance Memorial. If I hadn't been there, I may agree that the film was entirely aloof, but I knew what happened in the end. There is a book about Claus Graff Von Stauffenberg (may be missing another name ;) ) and other failed attempts to kill Hitler, there were many even though I was taught in America that there were none. Yay American education system!
