I stood where the final scene was shot and is now called the German Resistance Memorial. If I hadn't been there, I may agree that the film was entirely aloof, but I knew what happened in the end. There is a book about Claus Graff Von Stauffenberg (may be missing another name ;) ) and other failed attempts to kill Hitler, there were many even though I was taught in America that there were none.
